AFL Europe is now recruiting umpires for 2022 events

We’re very excited to share with you that AFL Europe is now recruiting umpires for our 2022 events.
The Fitzpatrick Cup and Champions League tournaments are locked in and have been announced on our website. We are yet to announce the Euro Cup and European Championships events.
The Euro Cup, however, has a venue confirmed, we are just awaiting the confirmation of one of two dates. The European Championships is awaiting venue and date confirmation and will be held across four days TBC (between August – October). Please find a complete event overview below.
We hope to receive interest from the many new umpires we’ve had accredited through our 2020 & 2021 Umpire Development Series, as well as reunite with all existing umpires especially those who have attended our past events.
AFL Europe’s events are a terrific opportunity to gain international umpiring experience whilst officiating alongside and learning from some of our best umpires in Europe. New umpires are always grouped with one of our experienced umpires who are happy to lend a helping hand.

Event Overview
The Fitzpatrick Cup is our 9-a-side men’s and women’s university tournament. Next year’s tournament will be held on Saturday, 5th February at St. Peter’s Rugby Club (The Harlequins Playing Fields) in Cardiff. Running across two pitches from approximately 9:00AM to 4:00 PM, umpires will officiate approximately six matches throughout the day.
The Champions League is our 9-a-side men’s and women’s tournament that invites the best local clubs from across Europe. This will return to Amsterdam and be held at the Sportpark De Eendracht complex on Saturday, 9th April. This event will run across five pitches from approximately 9:00AM to 6:30 PM, with umpires the chance to officiate up to ten games. Umpires may also choose to goal umpire at this tournament.
The Euro Cup is our 9-a-side men’s and women’s tournament that invites the best national teams in Europe. This will be hosted in Stirling, Scotland with a pending date of Saturday, 18th June and a back-up date of Saturday, 25th June. This will be confirmed soon. The Euro Cup will run across five pitches from approximately 9:00AM to 7:00 PM, with umpires the chance to officiate up to ten games. Umpires may choose to goal umpire at this tournament too.
European Championships is our 18-a-side men’s and women’s national team tournament. More details will be shared soon. We are not recruiting umpires for the 2022 ANZAC Cup. Selection for this has carried over from our 2020 event.
